Invincible Crvena Zvezda wins Serbian national league

After having finished second in this year’s CEV Cup, the girls of Crvena Zvezda BEOGRAD were recently crowned national champions at the end of the Serbian league sponsored by Wiener Städtische. The club from Belgrade won its 24th title beating Spartak SUBOTICA in the final series with three straight victories.
Crvena Zvezda showed a class of its own winning the title without a single loss. The girls in red and white jerseys finished the season with 36 victories – 26 in the Championship, 5 in the Serbian Cup and 5 in the CEV Cup, with only two losses to Spain’s Valeriano Alles MENORCA in the 16th Finals and to Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO in the final match of the CEV Cup. In the Wiener Städtische Superleague their run was completely flawless.
