They became college roommates and eventually went on to compete side by side in the AVP. During their first year on tour, crew members dubbed them Team Gorgeous, "partly because they didn´t know our names and also because they enjoyed watching us," explains Suzanne. In 2005, they were never seeded higher than 20th, and knocked off six teams seeded 12th or higher. In 2006, they finished as the ninth ranked team on tour.
