The XIV General Assembly of the Russian Volleyball Federation was staged this past weekend in Moscow and the many delegates assembled there elected Mr. Stanislav Shevchenko to the Presidency. The participants paid their tribute to outgoing President Nikolay Patrushev who was unanimously appointed as the head of the Supervisory Board established within the Russian Volleyball Federation. Mr. Dzhulustan Borisov was nominated Vice President, whereas FIVB Refereeing Commission member Sergey Titov and Mr. Maksim Uvaydov (who is currently heading the Volleyball Federation based in the region of Voronezh) joined the Presidium of the Federation.
Mr. Stanislav Shevchenko recapped for the delegates the main activities of the past year, proudly mentioning that a sports hall is currently being built in Kaliningrad, an ad-hoc training center for the national teams – the so-called Volleygrad - was completed in Anapa and that for the first time ever the Federation had organized an All Star Game featuring the very best female Volleyball players currently competing in Russia. Mr. Shevchenko recalled also the enormous progresses of the Beach Volleyball national teams as well as the tremendous success of the FIVB World League premieres organized in the Russian Far East, namely in the cities of Surgut and Khabarovsk.
