H απόφαση της CEV

After having already started such a campaign last year after the blameworthy acts registered during the finals of the CEV Indesit Champions League in Prague, the authorities of the European Volleyball Confederation are unfortunately obliged to continue their efforts and tighten up the existing provisions likely to fight against any form of hooliganism.
In spite of the measures that the CEV Executive Committee adopted last year against Iraklis THESSALONIKI, some misconduct was again to be registered during the return match against E.A. PATRON played for the 4th finals of the CEV Cup last February 3, 2010. Therefore CEV had decided to ban the club of Iraklis THESSALONIKI for at least one year from competing in the European Cups as well as to inflict a strong financial sanction.
Yesterday night, during a game played for the Playoffs 12 of the CEV Indesit Champions League in Samokov, the local fans burned a torch within the hall, thus forcing the match as well as the live coverage to be interrupted for 20 minutes. Again, such hooliganism is not to be accepted and hence the European Volleyball Confederation already issued a strong financial sanction against the club of CSKA SOFIA, plus no Bulgarian fans will be allowed to enter the competition hall for the return match in Rzeszow (Poland) and additionally CSKA may be barred from the next European Cups season after an in-depth analysis on the case will be carried out by the CEV Executive Committee.
